Social Welfare Department Kupwara Hosts Inspiring “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” Conference to Empower Girl Child

Langate, May 29: A vibrant Conference-cum-Awareness Program themed “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” was held today at Rest House Reshiwari Nowgam in Langate area of district Kupwara, organized by the District Social Welfare Office Kupwara and Tehsil Social Welfare Office Handwara, in collaboration with Pay Centre Reshwari Nowgam and Education Zone Mawer. The event underscored the critical importance of saving and educating the girl child, aligning with the national campaign to promote gender equality and empowerment.

Speakers passionately highlighted the need to protect girls from discrimination, ensure access to education and healthcare, and break societal stereotypes to foster equal opportunities. A key highlight was the distribution of educational kits to 27 underprivileged ST girl students by the Social Welfare Department, symbolizing a commitment to uplifting marginalized communities.

The event concluded with a unified pledge from administrators, educators, and community leaders to champion a society where every girl is valued, educated, and empowered to achieve her full potential. The program reinforced that “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” is not just a slogan but a call for collective action to create a brighter future for the girl child.
