NC will not compromise principles for power, says CM Omar Abdullah
Srinagar, Jun 17 : Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said the National Conference would remain steadfast in its political ideology and would never sacrifice its principles for power, regardless of shifting political alliances at the national level.
Responding to questions about some opposition parties extending support to the NDA on select issues, Omar said the National Conference’s decisions are guided by its values and commitment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir rather than political convenience.
“Political circumstances may change, but our principles remain unchanged. The National Conference will not compromise its ideology or political legacy for any position or advantage,” he said.
The Chief Minister made these remarks during his visit to Bandipora, where he inaugurated and reviewed development projects worth nearly Rs 300 crore aimed at improving infrastructure and public services in the region.
During the visit, Omar also interacted with several public delegations who highlighted issues related to roads, electricity, drinking water, healthcare, employment and other civic facilities. He assured them that genuine concerns would be addressed on priority and directed officials to take necessary action.
Emphasising his government’s focus on development and public welfare, the Chief Minister said the ongoing projects would help strengthen essential infrastructure and improve the quality of services available to people across various districts.
Reiterating the party’s political stand, Omar said the National Conference would continue to uphold its values and work for the interests of the people, irrespective of changing political equations in the country.
