Kupwara Police Apprehends Suspect with Narcotics
Kupwara, October 23, 2024: In a significant operation aimed at curbing the menace of drug trafficking, the Kupwara Police successfully apprehended a suspect in possession of narcotics during a naka established near the Bed College crossing at Drugmulla.
During the naka, police personnel observed a person behaving in a suspicious manner, who upon noticing the naka party, attempted to flee from the spot. The police team, acting swiftly and tactfully, managed to apprehend the individual. Upon questioning, the suspect disclosed his identity as Khursheed Ah Hajam, son of Ab Ahad r/o Kupwara.
A search of the individual revealed the recovery of charas-like substance in a substantial amount from his possession. In accordance with the law, the contraband was seized on the spot.
Following the recovery, a case has been registered under FIR No. 249/2024 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway to uncover more details and possible connections.
