MP Er Rashid carries out extensive tour of Machil, Jamgund, expresses displeasure over lack of basic amenities

Kupwara, Oct 26: MP Baramula Er Rashid today carried out hectic & extensive tour of border areas of Machil & Jamngund in North Kashmir’s Kupwara where he took stock of issues faced by the inhabitants in these remote area’s.

Er Rashid’ chaired a meeting of local administration in Machil & held a Public Darbar along with the officals of various Departments. Many burning issue’s were resolved during the meeting.

During Jumgund visit Er Rashid addressed public gathering & assured people of Jamgund and adjoining hamlets that he will always stand with them.

After the tour Er Rashid in a statement expressed his strong displeasure with the government over the shortage of Doctor’s, Paramedical staff, teachers, lack of accommodation in Schools & hospitals, over mobile network connectivity and scarcity of water other basic amenities.

He took up the issue of deploying Gynaecologist in Machil, providing proper infrastructure to various institutions in the region and urgency of providing Xray plant at Machil with top health officals and was assured speedy readdressal of the issue’s.

MP Baramulla also offered funds to Rural Development Department for construction of 3 play fields in Machil and also urged the Rural Development Department and other Departments to execute ongoing works in stipulated time.

However he expressed strong displeasure for inability of the administration to complete prestigious works within stipulated time mainly because of negative approach of contractors. Er Rashid also demanded helicopter services for Jamgund in Harsh winters and also demanded a Degree college for Machil and Hr Secondary School for Jamgund.

He demanded that Hiri Jamgund road be Handedover to BEACON so that the connectivity gets improved in this border region.

He also sought special recruitment drive in civil and police Departments to overcome unemployment challenges in these two border areas.

He said “its unfortunate the people of the Jamgund have no hospital, electricity, mobile connectivity even in this modern era.

Er Rashid strongly advocated return of all those migrants who were forced to migrate to PaK Administered Kashmir in Jamgund and Kethanwali sectors.

In early days of militancy due to cross LOC shelling he reiterated his demand of seeking rehbaltion package for border migrants of Machil, Jamgund, Karnah and other areas.

He urged the government to consider promoting border tourism in Jamgund which should include opening of Sharda Temple on the other side of LOC.

Er Rashid also visited family of Fayaz Ahmad Lone at Madhama Kupwara who has been in Tihar Jail since more than 11 years. Everybody broke into tears on the occasion when Er Rashid met the aling and ageing mother and other family members of Fayaz Ahmad Lone.

Er Rashid also attended the wedding ceremony of sister of Arshid of Tonch, a youth from Kupwara who has been in Tihar jail for last 3 years. On the occasion emotional scenes were seen when Er Rashid intracted with the kids and other family members of jailed Arshad Tonch and everybody broke into tears.

Er Rashid reminded Union Home Minster Amit Shah of his promise that he would talk to the youth of Kashmir and urged him to release all Kashmir’s languishing in jails since years.
