Ray of Hope After Floods: Sikhs of America Repair and Reopen Flood-Hit Government Primary School in Jalandhar

Punjab 22 January 2026: The Government Primary School at Jalalpur Kala in Jalandhar district, which had suffered extensive damage due to the recent floods in Punjab, has been fully repaired and renovated by the international social organization Sikhs of America. Following the restoration work, the school was formally reopened today, bringing renewed hope to students, teachers, and the local community.

The inauguration ceremony was conducted by the Sikhs of America team under the leadership of Coordinator Varinder Singh, following the directions of Chairman Sikhs of America Jasdeep Singh Jassi. The event witnessed the presence of the BPEO Jalandhar, the school principal, Sikhs of America coordinator Varinder Singh, school children, and prominent village heads and community members, who all participated enthusiastically.

During the event, the students expressed their happiness and extended heartfelt gratitude to Sikhs of America for restoring their school and ensuring a safe learning environment.

Speaking to the media, the BPEO Jalandhar said that the school was badly affected after the floods, disrupting educational activities. He appreciated Sikhs of America for stepping forward to repair the school, stating that their efforts have safeguarded the educational future of the children.

On this occasion, Coordinator Varinder Singh said that Sikhs of America has always been committed to helping people in need. He added that several schools across Punjab were damaged due to floods, and Sikhs of America has repaired many of them. He further stated that the organization will continue its mission of serving humanity and supporting education wherever possible.

This noble initiative has not only restored an important educational institution but has also strengthened the spirit of community service and humanitarian support in flood-affected areas.
