CM Omar to Consult MLAs Ahead of 2026–27 Jammu Kashmir Budget
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also heads the Finance Department, will begin consultations with Members of the Legislative Assembly as part of preparations for the 2026–27 budget.
According to the schedule, separate meetings will be held with MLAs from North, South and Central Kashmir on January 23 and 24 to gather their suggestions and priorities.
As per an official notice, the Chief Minister will chair a meeting on Thursday with MLAs from Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam districts at the Civil Secretariat from 3 pm to 6 pm.
On January 24, he will meet legislators from Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama districts between 10 am and 1 pm, followed by consultations with MLAs from Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora districts from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Similar meetings with MLAs from the Jammu region are scheduled for next week to incorporate their inputs into the upcoming budget.
