DC Kupwara Reviews MED Preparedness Ahead of snowfall prediction by IMD
KUPWARA, JANUARY 22:
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, on Thursday evening paid a visit to the Mechanical Engineering Department (MED) Workshop at Bumhama to review the department’s preparedness in view of the forecast of snowfall.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected snow clearance machinery, equipments,and logistics arrangements put in place to ensure timely road clearance. He interacted with MED officials and staff, taking stock of the operational readiness of snow-cutters, loaders, and other essential machinery.
The DC emphasized the importance of maintaining all machinery in optimal working conditions and directed the concerned officers to ensure the availability of adequate manpower, fuel, and spare parts. He stressed the need for close coordination among line departments to respond promptly to any snowfall-related exigencies, particularly on vital road stretches.
