Two Teachers And A Minor Girl Killed In Reasi Road Accident

Reasi, August 18: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of two teachers and a minor girl in the Chassana area of Reasi district on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred when an Alto car, bearing registration number JK20B 1024, plunged into a deep gorge near Chamelu Morh.

According to officials, the car, carrying four occupants, lost control and rolled down into the gorge, resulting in the instant death of two individuals. The deceased were later identified as Ghulam Din and Mohd Amin, both teachers from the Hamusan area of Chassana tehsil.

Two other passengers, including a minor girl, sustained critical injuries in the accident. They were immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, the minor girl, identified as Sumera Ghulam, succumbed to her injuries, raising the death toll to three.

The fourth occupant, a minor boy named Sajad Ghulam, also from Hamusan, is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. His condition remains critical.

Local authorities have expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased. A police official confirmed that an investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the accident.

The Reasi community is mourning the loss of the victims, especially the two teachers who were well-respected in the area. This tragic accident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers present on the region’s hilly roads.
