MCK Failure| Kupwara lone fountain Non-Functional; construct clock tower instead: Local Residents

KUPWARA, AUG 13: Disappointing it may sound but it is true that a lone fountain Situated in the heart of the town Kupwara is still craving for official attention; lacks of rupees spent in construction of fountain which never showed its continuous operational process. Once the attraction of Kupwara market, the fountain has fallen into a state of neglect, brewing resentment among people.
Belying the tall claims of the concerned authorities of beautifying Kupwara, the lone fountain at the ever popular and VVIP area remained unattended, thus questioning the integrity of claims of face lift of Kupwara. Locals claimed that they have brought the matter into the notice of the concerned authorities many times, but they did not pay any heed.“It is an important chowk, which leads to several important places, including the DC office, SSP office, Kupwara Hospital and other offices as well, but authorities seem to pay little attention towards it,
If money has been spent on this fountain, why the said fountain is non-functional” local resident Shaista Akther said.
Now the Non-Functional lone fountain is used for hoarding banners, residents are now calling for immediate action to either restore the fountain or replace it with a Clock Tower.
