JK Civil Society Forum President Urges Govt. To Announce 2nd Spell Of 10-Day Summer Vacation Owing To Prevailing Heatwave
Srinagar, July 22: Jammu and Kashmir civil society forum chairman Ab Qayoom wani has shown serious concern over the unbearable heat wave this year where temperature has broken all the records of heat and humidity.
Wani in a press statement quoting MET experts said, “There is no chance of respite in near future, there have been demand from parents and students for one more phase of at least 10 days summer break in schools , but it seems that authorites are unmoved. One fails to understand why? Why they make it point of prestige? They remain in AC chambers and let school children suffer in scorching heat in suffocating class rooms, open grounds and on roadside while walking.”
There is dire need of the second phase of 10 days summer break with immediate effect as allover the heat wave is affecting the normal chore of life, hecsaid.
Wani after attending the various delegations of parents at central office Gogji Bagh appealed to the govt for the second phase of 10 days summer vacations in the larger interest of students in particular and society in general .
