Handwara Police Hosts Cyber Security Workshop to Enhance Digital Vigilance
Handwara, April 10: In a forward-looking initiative aimed at boosting cyber preparedness within the force, Handwara Police on Thursday organized a Cyber Security Awareness Workshop at the Police Control Room (PCR), Handwara. The workshop was conducted under the guidance of senior police officials to enhance awareness among officers and staff regarding evolving cyber threats and the importance of safe digital conduct.
The workshop was spearheaded by Inspector Owais Nazir, Incharge of the District Technical Team, who delivered an in-depth presentation covering key areas of cyber security. Participants were educated on various forms of cybercrime, including online fraud, phishing, social engineering attacks, and data breaches. Emphasis was also laid on safeguarding official communication channels, understanding cybercrime reporting mechanisms, and adopting proactive preventive strategies.
Interactive sessions were a key highlight of the event, where real-life case studies were discussed and practical demonstrations were conducted to give officers a hands-on understanding of cyber-related challenges. The resource team ensured that the content was accessible and applicable to day-to-day policing.
