Black Magic : A Rat Race In Kashmir
Isra Rashid
Black Magic, known as “Sihr“, is a serious crime and major sin. It is a practice of using supernatural powers, magical spells, and incantations to harm or manipulate others.
Sihr involves seeking help from jinn, devils, or other supernatural entities to achieve evil goals.
It is considered a form of shirk (polytheism) and kufr (disbelief), and is strictly forbidden in Islam.
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said ;
The one who practices Sihr, the one who learns Sihr, and the one who believes in Sihr, all of them are disbelievers.”(Hadith)
As I sit in my hometown of Zirhama Kupwara, I’m filled with regret and sorrow, for it’s beauty and rich heritage , kashmiri are used it against each other .Our beautiful valley, once renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage, is now plagued by problems, including the rise of black magic.
Black magic has become a rat race were people compete for power , wealth and status ,but in the pursuit we are loosing our identity.Kashmir, once a paradise on earth, has been plagued by a dark and sinister
trend – black magic. This evil practice has taken hold of the valley, destroying lives and families, and leaving a trail of devastation in its wake.
The Quran clearly condemns black magic and warns believers against practicing it. In Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 102, Allah says:
“They followed what the Shayatin (devils) gave out (falsely) against the kingdom of Solomon.
Solomon did not disbelieve, but the Shayatin (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Harut and Marut, but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said,
“We are only for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us).”
And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah’s Leave. And they learn that which harms them and profits them not.
And indeed they knew that the buyers of it (magic) would have no share in the Hereafter. And how bad indeed was that for which they sold their ownselves, if they but knew.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 102)
THE MENANCE IN BLACK MAGIC IN KASHMIR
Kashmir was once a land of spirituality and piety, where the people were known for their strong faith and values.
But today, it has become a hub of black magic and superstition.
The menace of black magic has spread its tentacles across the valley, affecting people from all walks of life.
Kashmir was a land of sufis and saints, but today it has become a land of black magic and evil practices. The people of Kashmir have forgotten the teachings of their ancestors and have turned to black magic as a means of solving their problems.
Black magic “sihr” An issue that has been shrouded in secrecy and superstition.
An issue that has been causing harm and destruction to countless lives.
Why do we resort to black magic to harm our own relatives?
Why do we go to black magic peers and trantrics, seeking their help to destroy our own family members?
Why do we weaken our own faith and beliefs by resorting to such evil practices?
The answer lies in our own weaknesses and vulnerabilities. We are driven by jealousy, greed, and a desire for power and control. We are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve our goals, even if it means harming our own relatives.
EFFECTS OF BLACK MAGIC: It creates a culture of fear and mistrust, where people are suspicious of each other and are constantly looking over their shoulders.
Black Magic Practitioners, including peers and trantrics play a significant role in perpetuating this evil practice. They prey on people’s vulnerabilities and fears, promising them quick fixes and miracles.
But their intentions are far from pure.
They are driven by greed and a desire for power and control. They use their knowledge of black magic to exploit and manipulate others, often for financial gain. The Way Forward
To combat the menace of black magic,
we need to take a holistic approach.
We need to address the underlying issues of poverty, lack of education, and social inequality.
We need to promote education, awareness, and critical thinking, and empower our communities to make informed decisions.
We also need to take strong action against black magic practitioners, who are exploiting people’s vulnerabilities and fears for their own gain.Black magic can cause physical harm, including illness, injury, and even death.
Black magic can cause emotional trauma, including anxiety, depression, and fear.
Black magic can cause social problems, including family conflicts, relationship problems, and social isolation.
THE RISE OF BLACK MAGIC IN KASHMIR;

Black magic “sihr” Is a ticking time bomb, waiting to destroy our society and our people.
We need to act now, to create a society that is free from the evil of black magic.
Let us create a brighter future for ourselves and for our children.
Let us make Kashmir a place where love, kindness, and empathy reign.
We also need to take strong action against black magic practitioners, who are exploiting people’s vulnerabilities and fears for their own gain.
In Kashmir’s valleys, where beauty reigns
A dark and sinister trend, black magic sustains.
A rat race of desperation, where souls are sold
To false promises of power, and a life to unfold
The practitioners of darkness, with spells and incantations
Prey on the vulnerable, with false hopes and sensations
They promise the impossible, and deliver only pain
Leaving behind a trail, of shattered dreams and vain
The people of Kashmir, in search of a way out
From poverty, lack of education, and social doubt
Turn to black magic, as a desperate means to an end
But find themselves trapped, in a cycle that won’t mend
But still we hold on, to the hope of a brighter day
When black magic’s grip, will be broken, and we’ll find our way
To a life of love, kindness, and empathy, we’ll strive
And Kashmir’s beauty, will once again thrive
We are the ones, who can break this black magic’s score
We are the hope, of a brighter tomorrow
We are the people, who can make Kashmir’s future glow.
The Trials of Prophet Muhammad (SAW):
Overcoming Black Magic
As we all know, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was sent by Allah to guide humanity to the right path. However, not everyone was pleased with his message. In fact, many people, including some of the leaders of the Jewish community in Medina, sought to harm him and undermine his mission.
One of the most notable incidents of black magic against the Prophet (SAW) was when a Jewish sorcerer named Labid ibn A’sam cast a spell on him. This sorcerer, who was known for his expertise in black magic, had been hired by some of the Prophet’s enemies to harm him.
The spell caused the Prophet (SAW) to experience hallucinations and confusion. He would see things that were not there, and he would feel a sense of unease and discomfort. However, despite the challenges he faced, the Prophet (SAW) did not lose faith. He continued to pray and seek guidance from Allah.
And then, something remarkable happened. Angel Jibril (AS) appeared to the Prophet (SAW) and informed him about the spell. Jibril (AS) then taught the Prophet (SAW) a prayer to counteract the spell.
The Prophet (SAW) prayed:
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I fear, and from the evil of what I do not fear.
He also recited the verse from the Quran: “And indeed, they plotted a plot, and their plot was with Allah, though their plot was not such as to remove the mountains (real mountains or the Islamic law) from their places.” (Surah Ibrahim, Verse 46)
Through his faith, prayer, and the intervention of Jibril (AS), the Prophet (SAW) was able to overcome the effects of the spell. The magical knot was untied, and the Prophet (SAW) was restored to his normal state.
This incident teaches us several valuable lessons.
Firstly, it shows us the importance of faith and trust in Allah. Despite the challenges he faced, the Prophet (SAW) did not lose faith. He continued to trust in Allah and seek His guidance.
Secondly, it highlights the power of prayer. The Prophet (SAW) prayed to Allah for protection and guidance, and his prayer was answered.
Finally, it reminds us of the importance of seeking knowledge and guidance in times of need. The Prophet (SAW) sought knowledge from Jibril (AS) to counteract the spell, and he was able to overcome the challenge.
