‘Aloof, secluded and isolated’: Sajad Lone on govt

Srinagar, Jun 3 : Peoples Conference president Sajad Gani Lone on Wednesday took a swipe at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for holding a review meeting of his government at Dachigam National Park, saying the venue reflected what he described as the administration’s “aloof” functioning.

In a post on X, Lone mocked Abdullah’s decision to hold the meeting at the park on the outskirts of Srinagar and described the chief minister as “a tourist to the core”.

“Dachigam is actually symbolic for today’s congregation. It is secluded, isolated, entry is restricted. That actually sums up the state of the present government. Aloof, secluded, isolated and entry restricted,” Lone said.

The Peoples Conference leader also made sarcastic remarks about legislators attending the meeting, claiming they had been taken to the wildlife area and would be asked to “fall in line”.

Abdullah had convened a meeting of ruling alliance legislators and party leaders at Dachigam National Park earlier in the day to review the performance of his government.(KNS)
