Yasir Reshi In Talks With PDP Leaders To Join Back The Party

Srinagar, April 6: Yasir Reshi, a former Member of Legislative Council from Sumbal Sonawari area of Bandipora, is currently engaged in discussions with leaders of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) regarding his potential return to the party, reveals a source close to the PDP.

In 2021, citing personal reasons, Reshi resigned from the PDP, however, the party functionaries said that he was expelled due to his anti-party activities. Later on, Reshi joined Sajad Lone’s People’s Conference.

Due to Reshi’s less political activities with People’s Conference, and instead focusing on independent political activities, Reshi is exploring the possibility of rejoining the PDP, a move that could have significant implications for the party’s future in the region.

A senior party leader privy to the Reshi’s return to the PDP said that Mehbooba Mufti always treated Reshi as a younger brother and he is always welcome to the PDP family.

He further added that Yasir Reshi brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the political landscape in Jammu and Kashmir. His potential return to the PDP could reinvigorate the party and its commitment to serving the interests of the people of the region.

Speaking about the ongoing discussions, senior youth leader of the PDP said that, we believe that by working together with the leadership of the PDP, we can address the challenges facing our region and work towards a better future for all our citizens.

Senior youth leader and other senior leaders welcomed the talks with Yasir Reshi, recognizing his contributions to the party in the past and the potential for collaboration in the future.

As the discussions between Yasir Reshi and PDP leaders continue, senior party leader said that PDP remains committed to exploring opportunities for cooperation and unity in advancing the goals of peace, prosperity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir.(PTK)
