Kupwara Police Arrests Drug Peddler, Narcotics Seized
Kupwara: Continuing with its resolve and unrelenting efforts against drug trafficking, Kupwara Police apprehended a drug peddler and seized a consignment of narcotics during a naka checking at Khargund, Dragmulla.
A police team from Police Post Dragmulla had set up a checkpoint when a suspect, identified as Sajad Ahmad Lone, son of Sonauallah Lone, resident of Hyhama, was found traveling from Anantnag towards Kupwara town. Upon noticing the naka party, the accused attempted to flee the spot but was swiftly intercepted and apprehended by the alert police personnel. During his thorough search, a charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case (FIR No. 69/2025) under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kupwara, and further investigation is underway.
