Kashmir: Naib-Tehsildar Arrested For Bribery

Pulwama : The Anti Corruption Bureau apprehended Mohammad Maqbool, Naib-tehsildar of Khrew Pampore, for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes.

According to sources, the ACB executed a meticulously planned operation, apprehending Maqbool while he was in the act of soliciting a bribe of ₹2 lakh, of which ₹10,000 was accepted as the first installment. The complaint leading to the arrest was filed by Mushtaq Ahmad from Ismail Colony Satpakhran Khrew.

 

“The bribe amount was agreed upon to be paid in multiple installments, with an initial payment of ₹10,000. However, prior to fulfilling the demands of the accused, the complainant approached the Anti Corruption Bureau seeking legal recourse,” stated police sources.

 

A dedicated trap team was deployed, resulting in the successful apprehension of the accused Naib-tehsildar. Investigations into the case are ongoing, underscoring the commitment to combating corruption and upholding the rule of law. (PTK)
