03 Notorious drug peddlers arrested; Heroin, 11K Indian Currency and 1 Shop Seized

Kupwara, Nov 23: Three notorious drug peddlers arrested, 12 grams of Heroin, 11,000 Indian Currency and 01 Shop seized

According to the Statement Issued Kupwara Times, police said that based on credible information, an FIR No. 95/2023, U/S 8/21,29 NDPS Act was registered in PS Kralpora Kupwara. During investigation of the said case three accused narcotic smugglers including Mumtaz Ahmad Sheikh Son of Jalal din Sheikh resident of Kachama, Mumtaz Ahmad Tanch son of Mohd Ismail Tanch resident of Amroohi, A/p Kasheera Kupwara and Mohd Aslam Meelu son of Ali Mohd Meelu resident of Zangli Kupwara were picked up.

During sustained questioning/interrogation the accused confessed in front of executive magistrate that used to sell heroin to vulnerable youth from a shop located at Main market Kupwara, the shop belongs to accused Mohd Aslam Melu.

During the search of the shop in presence of executive magistrate, 12 grams of heroine, and 11 thousand Indian currency were recovered on the disclosure of accused. The said shop has also been seized. All the three persons have been arrested in the said case. During preliminary investigation, the origin of narcotics substance has been traced to Amroohi Karnah , where it was smuggled from PoJK.

According to the statement Further investigation is going on , more recovery and arrests are expected in the case.
