World Diabetes Day Celebrated in Kupwara
Kupwara, 14 November: World Diabetes Day was organised by Medical Superintendent at Sub District Hospital Kupwara.

MS SDH Kupwara Dr. Ab Gani Dar said that the World Diabetes Day 2022 theme is “Access to Diabetes Care”. Not only awareness but also lifestyle changes are necessary to prevent this disease.
Dr. Mohd Iqbal said that we must bring awareness about causes, he further said that diabetes patients are less common in rural areas than urban population. This may be due to the difference in food intake, blood pressure control is absolutely essential in this disease, he added.
Dr Aijaz Ahmad Bhat said that, India is known to be the diabetes capital of the world. According to the World Health Organization, 6% of the world’s population has diabetes.
According to experts, diabetes patients are more visible in cities due to irregular eating and less physical activity.
This disease can be avoided by eating a healthy diet, exercising, avoiding smoking and controlling body weight, he said.
On this occasion MLHP’S, ASHA Workers Anganwadi workers and others attended the awareness programme.
