Lawyer Kiran Lokhande was killed on August 30 after his wife Manisha Lokhande (21) and her lover Ganesh Aglawe (23) allegedly gave him sleeping pills and then electrocuted him, an official said.
“They left the body in the house and moved to a hotel in Pune. The two accused gave Rs 1 lakh to a man to dispose of the body. When he failed to dispose of the body, the accused faked a story that gas leakage in the kitchen caused a blaze that killed Kiran,” he said.
A probe soon revealed several discrepancies, leading to the murder getting solved, police official SN Wadate said, adding that the accused have remanded in custody till September 21.(PTI)
