Veterans Day was organised in Nowgam Military Station

Kupwara January 14: Armed Forces Veterans Day is observed on January 14 every year, since 2017. It is celebrated to honour the sacrifice of our veterans in serving the nation.
According to the statement issued to Kupwara Times said that Armed Forces Veterans Day recognises the services rendered by Field Marshal KM Cariappa OBE, the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces. He retired on January 14 in 1953.
This year Veteran’s Day was celebrated at Naugam Military Station amidst the spell of snowfall. A special lecture was conducted by the Brigade, wherein information related to “One Rank One Pension”, “Apps, Online Portals” and latest schemes was imparted.
Thereafter the representatives of Zila Sainik Board, Kupwara cleared the queries and fixed the issues of veterans. Commander, Naugam Brigade also visited the event and shared a few light moments with the veterans over a cup of tea. The veterans also visited the MI room and CSD, to avail the medical and canteen facilities. The event culminated with a hearty lunch at TMG Sainik Institute.
The event served as a platform to strengthen the bond between serving personnel and veterans.
Naugam Brigade reiterated the resolve of services for the well being of veterans and assured them that their valuable suggestions are always welcome.
