Kupwara, May 12: The ever increasing number of stray dogs are having their day in north Kashmir’s Nowgam village in Langate in Kupwara district making the residents fear for their lives.
The authorities concerned have totally failed to keep the population of stray dogs under check.
The stray dogs have not only made life difficult for residents here, but have also posed a serious threat to children.
The residents allege that they fear stepping out of their houses even during day time, as the dogs have turned “ferocious”.
More so the dog menace has forced residents of Nowgam, especially small children, to stay indoors for fear of being bitten.
The residents appealed authorities to investigate who bring these unknown dogs in the area and curb their population as soon as possible.
