Pseudo Journalists: New virus that has spread everywhere in Kashmir
J&K: Fake journalists running Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter pages have become a new virus that has spread everywhere in Kashmir, they are carrying mics and mobile phones in their hands and harassing the employees whether government or private.
We are getting to know the shocking realities of pseudo or self-styled journalists almost each day. Sadly, their horrifying actions intended to bring disrepute to this sacred profession continue to haunt us all. The startling revelations about some unregistered Web Portals, Facebook pages in Valley being involved in blackmail and unscrupulous acts is only a tip of the iceberg. Society and respected citizens wonder about the mushroom growth of Web portals consisting of ever increasing Fake Facebook pages having followers in hundreds to lacs.

Being a journalist it is too hard for me to write that it is surprising that in many cases the government employees working in the media houses are sometimes interviewing the bureaucrats and politicians on vital issues which again violates the conduct rules.
Despite recent observations by Hon’ble High Court regarding the menace, no concrete policy from the govt is forthcoming.
