Press Club of Akhnoor registered, Kunwar Shakti Singh elected its first President.*
Working Journalists of different media houses together form Press Club of Akhnoor and got registration under Societies Registration Act, 1860 Registration Number: – F&S/CSA/41/595 dated 25/01/2021.
Press Club of Akhnoor will work for welfare of Journalists including the trainings of working journalists and advancement of their professional skill and equipment. Press Club of Akhnoor will provide the extent feasible, facilities for holding press conferences, meetings, symposia and activities of professional interest. Further Club will also provide members means of professional, educational, social, cultural and recreational activities and to establish, maintain and conduct a Club for the use and benefit of members, their families and guests, and maintain a Club house.
Meanwhile first General Body of Press Club Of Akhnoor was also formed in which Kunwar Shakti Singh a Senior Journalist from Kashmir Times was elected as President of Press Club of Akhnoor. Shamsher Singh was elected General Secretary, Atul Sudan and Avinash Bassan ass Vice Presidents, Shiv Kumar Sharma as Secretary, Rabia Khajuria as Treasurer, Vikrant Bral, Rajan Sharma, Vishal Gadgotra, Ashwain Bhardwaj, Rakesh Kumar, Ankush Dubey as members of the Club.
Kunwar Shakti Singh newly elected President thanks all the members for electing him as President. He assured all members that he will work with full dedication for the Club.
He said he will leave no stone unturned for the welfare of Journalists. He assured full transparency will be maintained in Press Club of Akhnoor and soon a website will be developed where all details included account details will be displayed for all. He appealed Jammu Kashmir UT Administration to sanction land and funds for establishing building of Press Club of Akhnoor.
He also appeal all Journalist’s to maintains ethics of Journalism. He also showed concerned on freedom of media and attacks on various working Journalists in Jammu and Kashmir hence he appealed LG Manoj Sinha for thinking about security of Journalists so that they can work freely as fourth pillar of Nation.
