Sopore police arrests 3 drug peddlers with brown sugar
Sopore, September 21: Sopore Police today arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
The statement issued, states that police party of Police Station Sopore headed by SHO Police Station Sopore Khalid Fayaz under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Furqan Qadir, during patrolling duty at Butpora arrested three drug peddlers when the arrested persons were moving in a suspicious circumstances and attempted to runaway, but were caught.
Police identified the arrested drug peddlers as
Mushtaq Ahmad Gazi S/O Ghulam Muhammad R/O Shahabad Sopore, Aijaz Ahmad Ganie S/O Bashir Ahmad Ganie R/O Hathishah Sopore and
and Zubair Ahmad Lone S/O Muhammad Rafi Lone R/O Khawaja Gilgat Sopore.
“Police party were able to recover 30 grams Brown sugar like Substance from the three arrested accused follows as: 11 grams from the accused at serial number one,
09 grams from serial number 2 and 10 grams from the accused at serial number 3 during their personal search,” statment said.
Regarding the incident case vide FIR number 246/2022 under section 8/21, 29 of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation is underway.
Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law, police said.(KNS)
