Officers directed to take action against illegal operation of brick kilns in Budgam
Budgam, Nov 22: After receiving complaints on regular basis, the district administration Budgam has directed all the concerned officers to take action against the illegal construction and operation of brick kilns in the district under the Jammu Kashmir Brick Kiln (Regulation) Act.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam has issued an order which reads that Jammu Kashmir Brick Kiln (Regulation) Act, 2010 envisages a proper procedure
for establishing and operating the brick kilns. The order as per news agency Kashmir News Trust reads that complaints are being received every now and then regarding the illegal establishment and operation of brick kilns in the jurisdiction of district Budgam.
“These illegal brick kilns are a threat to the environment, health, flora, and fauna of the area and therefore, all Sub-Divisional Magistrates of District Budgam, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Budgam, and all Tehsildars of District Budgam are authorized to take the necessary action as per the norms in vogue the laws against the illegal establishment including, construction operation of brick kilns in their respective jurisdictions.
