Naugam Brigade Organised ‘ Women’s Health Check-up Camp’ at Village – Lawoosa
Kupwara February 12: The Indian Army’s Naugam Brigade took an initiative to organise a Health Check Up Drive for the women of Village-Lawoosa in Mawer Valley today on Friday at Middle school Lawoosa. The Medical camp was organised for the women who generally find it difficult to approach the medical facilities for their health issues due to remote location and unawareness.
A team of four doctors from Army and A team of Medical block Langate followed by the directions of BMO, Zonal Medical Officer Dr Shabir with his team joined hands to serve for this noble cause, around more than 90 local women’s of various age groups came for the checkup. The drive started with a lecture on Reproductive and Child health care, Safe Motherhood, Family planning and Planned Parenthood, Sexually transmitted diseases and Breast and Cervical cancer.
A comfortable and conducive environment was created for the women visiting the camp. The team of doctors attended them with full patience and addressed their problems, provided them the treatment, distributed the medicines free of cost and gave them advice for a sound health.
The Naugam Brigade has been frequently organising various such events and camps for the overall development of the region which has largely improved the social and economic status of villages under its area of responsibility.
The locals were very cooperative in making this health check-up drive a grand success and even requested the Army to organise more such medical camps in future. The Indian Army has always been on the front foot and has ever been striving hard for overall development of valley through its various development programme organised from time to time.
