The move to run state buses on interior routes of hinterland was proposed to defeat scrupulous elements who otherwise were. trying to fleece poor people of these border areas.
Talking to KNS The sub Divisional Magistrate Karnah Dr.Bilal Mohi Ud Din Bhat said “We have circulated our fare rates for all routes of this sub division few days back.Though the transporters had shown reluctance to implement our rates but and had gone on strike for a couple of days but we can’t afford to subject people to injustices for no more faults of theirs.
We have already reviewed our rates and our rates are genuine.I Urge transporters not to overcharge people if any of such instance is reported, we will take action.
He further said “we have alternatively written to the higher-ups for state run buses to be put on these routes for safe and economical travels.Once our proposals are approved, I assure you cheaper mobility of people across corners of this border town” (KNS)
