Journalist Fraternity Kupwara distances itself from Journalist & Writers Association Kupwara
Kupwara, Oct 24 : Journalist Fraternity Kupwara on Monday distanced itself from newly formed ‘Journalists & Writers’ Association Kupwara, saying “few vested interested elements are trying to hijack the actual forum”.
A statement issued to KNS, reads ‘Journalist Fraternity Kupwara’ has already been dissolved two weeks ago at Handwara TRC in which several members including Fayaz Hameed were also present.
It said the elections were conducted last week at Dak Bunglow Kupwara wherein Yahya Sultan was elected as president ‘Journalist Fraternity Kupwara’ who bagged 29 votes at the occasion.
“The newly body came up today in the name of Journalists & Writers Association Kupwara has nothing to do with Journalist Fraternity Kupwara. There are few vested interested elements who are trying to hijack the forum for occupation of chairs”, spokesperson in a statement said. (KNS)
