Handwara Police arrests one person, Carrying Over 57 Lac Cash concealed in a geyser, vehicle seized
Srinagar, Jan 11 : A person was apprehended by police for carrying over fifty-seven lac cash concealed in a geyser in Handwara area in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Officials in know how of the recovery told Kupwara Times that one person named Syed Irfan Abdullah, son of Mohd Abdullah, resident of Laribal, Handwara was apprehended carrying cash concealed in a geyser, during a naka checking at Braripora Handwara, stopped a vehicle Wagonr bearing registration No.JK01X/0387 for checking
The recovered cash, the officials said, was counted in presence of the Magistrate, and the total amount came in tune of rupees 57,43,800.
Confirming the recovery, a police officer told Kupwara Times that cognizance has been taken and an FIR number 6/2023 registered under relevant sections for further investigations. (With Inputs from GNS)
