ANANTNAG, May 11: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir today held an outreach program at Kokernag to listen the demands and grievances of the general public of Kokernag constituency.
The DDC was accompanied by ACD Anantnag, SE PDD, CEO KDA, SDM Kokernag, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Anantnag, District Education Planning Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Xens of PHE, PDD, Xen STD, AEEs of PDD, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Tehsildars of Kokernag, Larnoo, BDOs of Kokernag & Sagam BMO Kokernag.
On the occasion, a large number of people from all walks of life including Auqaf Members, Sarpanchs, Nambardars & Chowkidars of the villages of Kokernag, Bindo, Sagam, Bidder, Buchoo, Kharpora, Panzgam, Sofishali, Norupora Watnard, Larnoo, Devalgam, Desoo, Narsangar, Bidihard, Poru, Vailoo, Magam, Sonbari, Dandipora, Wangam, Lesser, Gohan, Kharti Iqbalpora, Gudidraman, Chitru, Matigawran, Matihandu, Draway and from other villages of the Kokernag constituency put forth their problems, demands and grievances before the DDC Anantnag.
Most of the demands were related to availability of uninterrupted power supply, safe drinking water, construction of approach roads, posting of BDO Larnoo, release of pending liability of NREGA wages, improvement of LT/HT network, supply of electric polls, immediate repairs of damaged transformers, early draw of lots for the 60 shops constructed by Municipal Committee Kokernag, compensation of land and walnut trees affected during road widening by PMGSY, repairs and renovation of roads by R&B, posting of artho- surgeon, paediatrician, mecadamizatiom and interior roads of Kokernag, availability of sufficient staff for schools and other issues before the DDC.
The DDC assured the public that all their genuine demands will be addressed at an earliest. He directed SE PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the holy month of Ramadan particularly during the Ifftari and Sehri times. He also directed Xen PHE Anantnag to ensure the availability of drinking water.
