DC Kupwara Doifode Sagar chairs District Environment Committee meeting
Directs for strict compliance of Government regulations for scientific disposal of solid waste
KUPWARA, DECEMBER 13: The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray today convened a meeting of District Environment Committee to review the implementation of District Environment Plan in Kupwara district.
The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of District Environment Plan which includes Solid Waste Management Plan, Water Quality Management Plan, Domestic Sewage Management, Industrial Waste Water Management, Air Quality Management, Mining Activity Management and Noise Pollution Management plans.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all the concerned officers to ensure strict compliance of the Government regulations regarding scientific disposal of solid waste.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all Executive Officers of Municipalities to ensure submission of Solid Waste Management Plans within a week’s time.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the EOs to ensure no waste is dumped in the town areas.
He directed the EO Handwara to identify state land for scientific disposal of the solid waste.
The DC directed District Pollution Controlling Officer to regularly evaluate the implementation of solid waste management in the district, besides, he was also directed to conduct capacity building programmes for awareness of the stakeholders regarding scientific disposal of the waste.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the EOs of Municipalities to increase the door to door garbage collection.
It was given out in the meeting that the meeting regarding review of Solid Waste Management shall be held on every week.
ACR Kupwara, ACP, DMO, FM-DIC, EO MC Handwara, EO Langate, PCB Officer and other concerned attended the meeting.
