Constructed 15 years ago, R&B forgets Limber road, seven villages suffer

Baramulla May 07 (KNO) : Seven villages in Boniyar Tehsil here are suffering as Roads and Building Department has not repaired or even macadamized the road it built for these areas 15 years back.  While officials at the department claim that this year work on the road will be done, but add, the approval has not come yet.

Ex. Er. R&B department Boniyar, Imtiyaz Ahmad told KNO that this road plan is yet to get approved in the current financial year. Almost a population of ten thousand persons is made to suffer, what residents’ call, a deliberate attempt to make people suffer.

“It is nothing but a brazen violation of tax payers’ money. They cannot justify it by saying this year we will do. We have been listening to such promises for long,” they said. They blamed political parties of deliberately withholding development works in such areas to cash on gullible voters.

“At least administration should do its job and not behave like politicians,” they said.  With a distance of seven kilometers from the national highway, villages including Limber A, Limber B, Shahkote, Choolan, Babaghal, Budrali, Kharhar are suffering due to R&B’s callous attitude.

Ex. Er. R&B department Boniyar, Imtiyaz Ahmad told KNO that macadamization of the road would be done this year “Every road would be macadamized as per the judicial distribution, since the department cannot ignore the other areas where the roads are still under construction,” Ahmad claimed. (KNO)
