Srinagar, May 17: In a surprising move, Deputy Mayor Srinagar Sheikh Mohammad Imran joined Peoples Conference today in presence of party chairman Sajad Lone.
Imran, who won ULB elections as independent candidate was supported by Congress councilors as deputy mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
He was bitter rival of Peoples Conference member and SMC mayor Junaid Azim Mattoo and was consistently speaking against him on social media and other platforms.
The “bad blood” between Imran and Mattoo was creating a daily flutter in Srinagar, which had at the same time created negative perception of functioning of Srinagar SMC.
However, recently the two rivals reconciled at a function in Srinagar in presence of Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Gani Lone
Surprisingly Imran today joined PC in presence of party chairman Sajad Gani Lone, General Secretary Imran Ansari, Mayor Srinagar Junaid Azim Mattoo and ex MLA Bashir Ahmed Dar. (KNS)
